We work to ensure all decisions made in transfusion medicine are founded on good quality evidence by:
- undertaking and publishing systematic reviews;
- the curation and development of our evidence libraries: Transfusion Evidence Library and Stem Cell Evidence.
We undertake reviews in one of the following ways:
- wholly by members of the core SRI team.
- supporting PhD and clinical research fellows working within the UK blood services who are undertaking a systematic review as part of their project.
- providing project management support, including leading systematic reviews from development of the research question through to the finished review, training and guidance at all stages of a systematic review, and search strategy development support for clinicians/small clinical teams within the UK blood services wanting to answer a specific research question.
In addition, we support the development and running of search strategies for UK blood services employed staff.
